Requirements to obtain a license:
Type D weapons licenses will be granted by the Head of the Civil Guard Command of the applicant’s province of residence and are valid for five years.
To maintain the validity of type D licenses, people over 67 years of age will need to have them endorsed (confirm their validity after checking) every three years by the competent authority, upon prior provision by the interested party of a favorable report, issued by an authorized recognition center, or, where appropriate, upon passing the corresponding complementary aptitude tests.

No, it’s not necessary. We offer walk-in services at our medical center. You can come in whenever you’d like during our official business hours, and our medical team will see you immediately, without waiting and very quickly.
A valid ID, passport, or foreign national identity document (NIE) and a passport-sized photograph. Upon completion of all the tests, we will provide you with the required certificate. If you wear glasses, please inform our doctor so they can be included on the certificate.
Our doctor will examine your vision, hearing, and reflexes, monitor your blood pressure, and, depending on the case, perform other complementary tests to accurately assess your health and your fitness to handle a weapon.
You will have to pass two psychometric tests:
Personality Test and Decision-Making Test. The first is a self-reported questionnaire consisting of a series of multiple-choice questions that measures a person’s mental and emotional stability.
The second consists of various stimuli being presented to the person, to which they must react according to specified instructions. It assesses the tendency to break rules.
